Time Zone Converter

Convert a date and time between two time zones.

Time Zone Converter

Enter a date and time, choose the zones, then select Convert.

How this conversion works

The date and time you enter is treated as the local time in the "From" zone, converted to a precise instant in time, then re-expressed as the local time in the "To" zone. Each zone's real UTC offset — including daylight saving, for the specific date entered — is used, so results stay correct year-round, not just during standard time.

Examples

Noon in New York in January (Eastern Standard Time, UTC−5) is 5:00 PM UTC. The same noon in July (Eastern Daylight Time, UTC−4) is 4:00 PM UTC — the hour shifts automatically with daylight saving.

About these time zones

Offsets and daylight saving rules come from the standard IANA time zone database built into your browser — the same source used by operating systems and calendar apps worldwide.

Frequently asked questions

Does this account for daylight saving time?

Yes — the conversion uses each zone's actual offset on the specific date you enter, so results are correct whether or not daylight saving is in effect.

Why does the calculator say my input is invalid?

The date and time field is empty or incomplete — choose a full date and time before converting.
